Stuff Siena said around Christmas:
To creepy Santa at the mall:
"I want a purple kitty with a baby on its back." oh ya, that's an easy one. Thanks Nana D for making it happen and literally sewing a tiny baby on to Luna from Sailor moons back (Luna apparently the only purple kitty in existence and sold at sweet factory woodgrove for future reference)
To sarah breastfeeding baby River:
"I don't drink milk from my mommy's boobies anymore but I still like to touch them."
On "baby Owen":
"I know! Maybe I can be a princess and Owen can be my wife!!"
On standing under her new hello kitty umbrella with Adessa:
"it's like a clubhouse!!"
On toys that we were trying to get rid of after she got her new toys from chrisbirthday (yes Christmas and birthday are now one):
Hysterically screaming "no dad don't put it in the throw away pile!!!!!" to a toy she hasn't seen in over a year.
On kiwi fruit:
"maybe, one day, when I'm a big girl, I will eat kiwi and avocado!" because she thinks they are an interchangeable fruit.
On her new shoes from her uncle Patrick and aunty Annina:
"they're not too big! I CAN WEAR THEM!" these pink vans are at the forefront of many an argument these days. She insists that her feet are big enough now but sadly, for Siena, they are not growing a full size per day.
Turning 3 means developing the most insane attitude ever. She is actually like a 15-year old valley girl the way she has been talking lately.
The other day kyle texted me at work and said "she just kicked me in the balls." okay. When you picture a 3 year old kicking a grown man in the balls it's pretty amusing so I immediately started laughing... He said "it's not funny, I was lying on the floor in pain!" then I started cry-laughing. So I called him because the people in my office probably thought I was insane... Kyle picks up and I say "what happened! Why did she kick you in the balls?!" and he says "because I tried to kiss her!" she said "DAAAAAAA-AAAAAD! ugh!" and kicked me!" this is the attitude I'm referring to... She always says mom or dad like she's embarrassed to be saying it! Often throwing in the UGH in disgust. Or if we just ask her a question "siena do you want some milk?" "okaaaaaaay MOOOOOOMMMMMM!"
So kyle goes "listen... I'm just walking over to her to give her a hug right now... Then I hear "ugh! DAAAAA-AAAAD!!!!" poor daddy :(
Doing things at a 3-year-old's pace...
Impossible to be anywhere on time.
Me: "okay Siena let's go, put your jacket on"...
Siena: "I. Don't. Need. A JACKET!!!" now crying..
Me: "yes you do it's freezing outside!!"
Siena: "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
Me: shove her arms into jacket.
Siena when we get outside: "MooooMmm, I'm cold!"
Me: late for work. Don't care though.
If there are puddles in the parking lot that day forget about it. She will run to every damn puddle out there, even the minuscule ones, just to splash in it. And if I even try to rush her she snaps at me and cries. But again, if her splashing in puddles makes me late for work, i am happy to accommodate this behaviour.
