Ssssshhhh.... She's SLEEPING IN A CRIB!
DON'T JYNX IT! SHE'S CURRENTLY SLEEPING IN HER OWN BED! THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THREE DAYS.... CAN I JUST SAY OMFG! She is still waking up in the night, and occasionally I am lazy in letting her come into bed if she won't settle in her own... ONE STEP AT A TIME FOLKS! After she took another tumble off the bed the other day, I had no choice but to change my ways! I had left her toothbrush on the bed and she went for it (climbing right over the pillow fortress) and then fell off with it in her hand... bristle imprint on forehead and all... SCREAMING BLOODY TOOTHBRUSH MURDER! I think she now realizes the importance of being in a safe place for sleep! Poor Kyle, I called him at school in hysterics with Sienna doing the no-breathe cry in the background... Kyle is sitting in class at this point, right before it is due to start, wondering if I'd been knifed by a London teen gang or something, and I tell him Sienna has fallen off the bed AGAIN and that I think her thumb is broken... Just what you want to hear when you're about to do a presentation... Then my stupid pay-as-you-go phone runs out of time, right when I realize her thumb is just really chubby and that the previously terrifying indent is just a dimple not a broken joint! I text him and say she's fine, 30p well spent... Plus, Sienna gets really embarrassed by mommy bawling harder than she does when she takes a tumble... She suddenly stops and looks up at my ugly-cry face as if to say "WTF MOM, I AM THE ONE THAT FELL ON MY EFFING TOOTHBRUSH, NOT YOU! I DON'T SEE ANY BRISTLE MARKS ON YOUR FOREHEAD!" Again, the application of frozen peas did not go well... she really wants someone to report me to social services! I put on her TV show "waybuloo" (YouTube it, not sure if it's educational or an acid trip) and she was back to her normal self, ignoring my apologies and pushing me away as I tried to give her kisses (I was in the way of her TV show!)

Perhaps her chubbiness is protection?? Babies are (you will discover) very resilient critters. They also teach us to save our "panic" for the genuinely serious bumps they will have. Like Kyle's arm, broken at school! Take heart--and relax a little!!
